I enrolled in this valuable class at Pet Sitters International's conference every two years (as my certification expired). When the Instructor Training program was offered in Tampa in February 2007, I signed up to become a certified instructor. I'm proud to be a member of such an elite team.
The First Aid / CPR class is designed to teach you the skills and techniques necessary to assess Your Treasured Friends for injuries and prepare them for transport to the vet should an emergency situation arise. The PetSaver™ Program includes Pet First Aid and CPR, Senior Pet Care and Pet Dental Care. Please visit Pet Tech (www.pettech.net) for additional information.
Classes are scheduled as requested and are available to pet care professionals and pet owners alike. Instruction is provided through slide presentation, hands-on skills / techniques practice and a take-home book. Even if you have taken this, or similar training, we encourage you to refresh your skills and knowledge.
For safety reasons, we use stuffed dogs for the skills / techniques practice sessions. You will team up to participate both as rescuer and coach and practice each skill / technique several times.

An 8.5 x 11 color Certificate of Training is available for a nominal fee. These are printed with your name and company name if applicable.
If you are a member of Pet Sitters International (PSI) and currently enrolled in their Accreditation Program, the PetSaver™ Program qualifies as part of the curriculum to earn recertification ACUs. Please ask for details.
Classes are usually held in NW Tampa on weekends and class size is limited. If you are interested in arranging a class for a specific group, we can discuss options as to location / number of participants and pricing.
According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) one out of four pets could be saved if just one pet first aid technique was applied prior to getting veterinary treatment.
Truth is, we hope you never have to use the skills / techniques we teach, but the best time to be prepared for an emergency is in advance. . .
